In literacy we made our own hand, first we had to draw it .Next we had to cut it out.Finally we had to color it in.

Today we made are own hand and we decorated them we put shapes on them we made patons we also put glitter on them.

Bonfire paintins

In literacy we have been writing instructians to make bonfire paintings.We used yellow paint red paint white paint, and black sugar paper.

Fairy Cakes!

In science we made fairy cakes it was fantastic !First we used flour then we used butter and then i put ln the eggs and mixed for 19 seconds then we used sugur to make the cakes sweet and then we cooked our cakes in the oven after the cakes was cooked we put icing and then we sprinkle 100 and 1000 then we tasted them and they were delicious!!!

Fairlop's 'Bloggers'

A new club has started this year called BLOGGERS and we will be posting weekly blogs, sharing lot's of different things that are happening in our classes !

1KS Exploring Push and Pull

1KS have been busy finding out about 'Forces'. They found that Ben and Grace had different types of toys, but they were all mixed up. Grace was very annoyed with Ben because she likes to keep things neat and tidy and Ben doesn't. Grace gave Ben strict instructions to tidy all the toys into two groups of 'Push' and 'Pull'.

1KS have been very busy finding out about 'Forces'. They found that Ben and Grace had lots of toys, which were all mixed up. Grace was very annoyed because she likes to keep things tidy, so she gave Ben strict instructions to sort the toys into two groups of 'Push' and 'Pull'. Ben knew that the only children that could help him do this task quickly and correctly were 1KS. So the children took on the challenge to save Ben and Grace's friendship.

1KS Visit to the Environmental Area

Some of the Year 1 children went over to visit the Environmental Area, as you can see they discovered lots of new things!!!!!

They looked at the pond and found frog spawn.

Then they collected some of the frog spawn in a jar, so that they could look at it more closely, using magnifying glasses.

The children were so amazed, that such little things could be a start of a new life.

Finally, they put the frog spawn back into the pond and they can't wait to see what will happen next.

IKS Get Active!

Happy New Year to all our families!

We have started off the New Year well in 1KS and we are enjoying lots of exercise in our Gym lessons on Tuesday mornings. We have been learning to put out the apparatus safely and have been practising different ways of moving on, along and underneath the apparatus. Look at our photographs below to see how we have been travelling on and around the apparatus in different ways. We have been concentrating on using different types of jumps (one foot to one foot, two feet to two feet, one foot to two feet etc.) as we travel.

Since our topic this term is 'Toys' we have also been practising ways of travelling like different toys - Harry and Mushin below are 'walking like a robot!'

Finally, a big thank you from Mrs Kingra and Mrs Shanks to all our parents and children who gave us such lovely gifts for Christmas - we really appreciate them and thank you very much.
